We are located in Rainsville, Alabama. If you have never been to DeKalb County or our surrounding areas, here you can find some great places to check out. Many people know of Desoto Park in nearby Fort Payne, but here are some of our favorite places some may not know of.

Fun Things To Do In DeKalb County

  • Oakwoods Cabin Rentals in Fort Payne, AL have multiple properties to choose from. Enjoy being secluded and having a peaceful getaway at any of their cabins! ​Located between Desoto State Park and Little River Canyon, and only minutes away from downtown Fort Payne.

  • Timeout Properties in Mentone, AL also has some beautiful cabins with amazing views. Access to a pond featuring 2 cabins, you can't beat that! A bunkhouse cabin along with a main cabin, what more could you ask for? The main cabin is also wheelchair accessible, which is always a plus.

  • Alice Circle located in downtown Fort Payne has almost everything you can think of. Anything from snacks and drinks to clothes and gifts. They have the cutest things and it is worth stopping by!

 

  • Bluecharm Boutique also in downtown Fort Payne have the cutest women's boutique clothes! If you are not a local and you stop by and love what they offer, they can also ship to you. Either way, if you ever find yourself in DeKalb County, make sure to stop by.

  • The Bakehouse also in downtown Fort Payne has the best sweets! Not only do they make special occasion cakes, they also offer customized boards such as breakfast boards etc. You will never be disappointed with anything you order from them!

  • Located on the boundary of DeKalb and Cherokee Counties, in the rugged yet verdant landscape of northeast Alabama, Little River Canyon National Preserve (the preserve) was established in 1992 by Public Law 102-427 to protect the landscapes of the Little River Canyon. The authorized boundary of the preserve currently contains 15,288 acres, 11,042 acres of which are federally owned and managed. Protected within the preserve boundary are the spectacular Little River Canyon, the pristine Little River, and a number of rare and threatened plant and animal species. Together with the adjacent Desoto State Park, Little River Canyon National Preserve provides abundant scenic views and varied recreational opportunities for locals and visitors alike.
